Moon Bakery

It is a restaurant but a cafe. You may ask me "Why?" Because it has different kinds of curries of Chinese, Korean, Japanese and of course, from Burmese.  In spite of cakes and bread, here, we have lots of hot drinks and cold ones.  And that's why.  It is a romantic place for many couples.  When you arrive, there should be at least one couple there.  There are many desks especially for two people and also for a group.  I think the price are so sweet for us; only around 3000 kyats for curries and about 1000 kyats for drinks.  So, Welcome to Moon Bakery!

Nail Art In Mandalay

Nail art is becoming popular in Mandalay recently.Nail art is available in many beauty saloons of Mandalay. There is a particular nail art shop in Mandalay. The name of the shop is "Organic". It's very comfortable to make nail art there. They give us an outstanding service. They are  very patient. They cleanse our nails well. They take care of their customers very well. It costs 4000kyats per 10 nails for an ordinary nail art. It costs 400kyats for a pop-up sticker,300kyats for a false nail and 100kyats for a crystal for nail art.
It's between 80th & 81st streets, on the 34th road. If you visit Mandalay, you should try nail art there.
Another nail art shop is a beauty saloon called "Aye Aye Myint". Their designs are a little different from "Organic". Their designs are cute. They also give an amazing service. Their prize are the same as "Organic". It is located on 34th street, between 79th & 80th streets,Chan Aye Thar San Township , Mandalay.
Some people wear nail polish, stick ,some shiny little pieces like stars and hearts with nail glue. These are popular among people who want to decorate their nail by themselves.
In Mandalay, some people put false nails with pictures on them with glue on their own. It's popular among teenager girls who don't have much time. It's cheaper and faster.

A Delicious Myanmar snack (Mont Pya Thalet)

Let's get going on our series about snacks in Mandalay.

One of the most  delicious Myanmar snacks is Mont Pya Thalet.  Mont Pya Thalet is mainly made of rice flour. The shape is circle. It has three tastes.

One is umami(umami is Japanese name, taste like cheese). It is made of rice flour, peas, tomatoes, coriander leaves, or suu-poat. It can be made thin or thick. Another type is sweet. It is made of rice flour and palm sugar syrup. Its colour is brown because of the syrup. The last one is spicy. It is made of rice flour, peas, tomatoes, and chillies. It can also be made thin or thick. They are very delicious.

You can get it from everywhere in Mandalay, especially in Pagoda festivals. Mont Pya Thalet is available at road-side shops and some hotels. There is at least one road-side shop in every quarter. The food is very cheap. It only costs 100 kyats for a sheet of Mont Pya Thalet. The best places are near Shwe Kyi Myin Pagoda, in front of B.E.P.S (2) and near the University of Medicine, Mandalay.

To make a delicious Mont Pya Thalet, one packet of rice flour is mixed with water. Then one big spoon of water-mixed rice flour is placed into the black pan. The pan is heated by wood logs. After putting the water-mixed flour, one table spoon of peas and a few coriander leaves are added. After 2 or 3 minutes, the delicious food can be eaten.

It is very simple and everyone can make it at home in their own kitchen.Besides it is one of the most famous and delicious foods of Myanmar.Everyone, Myanmar or foreigners, should give it a try. When you visit Mandalay, don't forget to try it.

Which one do you think is the best, sweet, umami, or spicy one?
